  • The First Working Conference of MRLC 2015 Annual Report was Held in Renmin University of China

    2016.02.25 - 2016.02.25

On February 25th, 2016, the first working conference of China-Korea Market & Regulation Law Center (MRLC) 2015 Annual Report was held in Renmin University of China.

This conference was hosted by Associate Professor Meng Yanbei of Renmin Law School. Professor Liu Chuntian, Professor Guo He, Professor Li Chen, Associate Professor Jin Haijun and Associate Professor Zhang Guangliang from Renmin Law School, Postdoctor Dong Dudu from Renmin Economics School, Lecturer Tan Yuan from China Youth University of Political Studies Law SchoolLawyer Adrian (Meng Ji’an) and Lawyer Lv Qing from Hogan Lovells Law Firm attended this conference.

Based on the review of the issues about the writing and publishment of MRLC Intellectual Property Law and Competition Law 2014 Annual Report, the working conference further discussed the improvement of MRLC Intellectual Property Law and Competition Law 2015 Annual Report.

Professor Liu Chuntian emphasized that the enterprise is the principal of innovation, the principal of right as well as the principal of the competition relationship. We may consider introducing the Intellectual Property of the representative enterprises of both China and Korea in the next report, such as SAMSUNG, HYUNDAI and HUAWEI. Besides, it would be better to introduce more issues of modification of China’s patent law in the part of the patent law. Furthermore, it is proposed to add the introduction of MRLC, ELR Center, ICR Law Center, Intellectual Property Rights Center, Renmin University of China, Korea University and the Law Schools of two universities to the 2015 annual report.

Afterwards, teachers put forward many constructive ideas and opinions on specific problems in the process of report writing. They had a fierce discussion on the issues of the chapter arrangement, the footnote, the index, the introduction of the author, the layout as well as the color of the cover, and ultimately reached consensus on these issues. Firstly, the Part IV of 2014 annual report only has one chapter “Enforcement of Anti-monopoly in the Field of Intellectual Property”, which is a bit simple, and it is proposed to enlarge to two chapters. Second, the footnotes of 2015 annual report should only involve data sources and judgment number, and the serial number of the footnotes is suggested to arrange in a separate order of each chapter. Then, it is proposed to add the section of Index to the 2015 annual report and use the subject headings as a clue and mark the corresponding page number. Furthermore, the introduction of the authors of the 2014 annual report is too simple, and it is proposed to enlarge the introduction of the authors in the next report. The author's introduction is still in the footnote, but the number of words should be limited within 80 words and the email address can be attached in the introduction if the author is willing to do so. Besides, compared with the 2014 annual report, the size and the font as well as the layout of the 2015 annual report should be adjusted. After that, the 2015 annual report’s cover can choose more elegant or solemn color and design. Finally, it is proposed to send the 2014 annual report to the main research institutions, international organizations and law enforcement agencies.

In the end, teachers also confirmed the schedule of the 2015 annual report. It is hoped and believed that the 2015 annual report would be improved on the basis of the 2015 annual report and become authoritative literature in the field of development of intellectual property law and competition law in China and Korea.
