Lee, Hwang is a professor at the Korea University School of Law. His academic interest covers competition laws, intellectual property rights, government regulations, and Law and Economics. He served at the Korea Fair Trade Commission for 12 years while playing a leading role in the Microsoft Tying Case. Subsequently, he was appointed as Research Counsel for the Supreme Court of Korea, where he drafted final judgments for an extensive array of competition law cases, including the landmark POSCO judgment. He earned his J.D./LL.M. from Columbia University Law School in New York and B.A. from Korea University School of Law.
